Gentle elderly boy – Loves People
DIMITRIE and Xufa were found early morning at only 100 meters from the shelter.
It was clear that they had been dumped there overnight. It was in the period that the temperature went up to 38 degrees.
It took a little while to gain their confidence but then they were happy to come with us to the shelter. They were both incredibly thirsty, poor dogs.
Dimitrie had a chip, but was not registered in Spain. We found out that the chip was registered in Belgium. The track system there gave us the owners name and phone number but they were of course obsolete because they were 13 years old!
Dimitrie is therefore now available for adoption. He had a tumor but was operated and he is fine now.
He is a big boy, and just wants to be with people. We hope that someone will give this elderly gentle soul a nice home.

Loves Long Walks – Very Good with People – Prefers to be Only Dog
LUNA came to us because her owner unfortunately died. She was in foster care for a while with a friend of the owner but as that person had other dogs and Luna would not always get along with them she had to leave.
Luna is very attached to people and loves to be cuddled. She has a good character and is house trained.
A couple of our volunteers take her on long walks, because even if she is 8 years old she still has quite some energy.
We are looking for a new home for Luna where she will be the only dog.

Loves Tummy Rubs – No Other Dogs – Cat Free Home
YOGI has lived 6 years with his lady owner who then moved back to the UK and surrendered him as she could not take him with her.
In the beginning it was so sad to see him struggle to not being in his beloved home anymore. Now, a couple of months later he has adjusted to the routine of the shelter, but he still gets quite stressed with all the dogs and noise around him.
He loves his walks and has stolen the hearts of many volunteers with his beautiful eyes. When he connects with you, he is very affectionate. He just wants to be at home and have his tummy rubbed.
We have noticed that Yogi is a bit more wary of men, that is probably because he had lived his whole life with a lady.
For Yogi we are looking for a home where is he the only dog, it needs to be a cat-free home as he is not so good with feline companions.

Energetic Family Dog – Beach Boy – Cat Free home
ROCKY is such a funny boy. He has the character of a real boxer. He loves to do agility and he loves the water. In the summertime he enjoys to have a play with the water coming out of the water hose or to jump in his pool. He can also jump very high!
There is a lovely volunteer who takes him out of the shelter for a day in the weekend. She takes him to the beach or to the river or goes hiking for hours. He just loves it. Unfortunately she cannot adopt him because she is working long hours and she has 2 cats, and Rocky really does not like cats!
Rocky came to the shelter some time ago, surrendered by an English family who had decided to return to the UK but could not take him with them nor their other dog. Rocky had lived with them for years, they had 2 small children and Rocky was absolutely fine with them.
We are looking for a sportive home for this fellow, because even though is now a senior dog he has still quite a lot of energy!
